Locally, The Gathering calls our small groups that meet “Locker Rooms.” This was coined because when athletes retire from professional sports, they often say that the number one thing they miss is the camaraderie of the locker room.
The conversation in locker rooms is usually centered on an inspirational book. Life change often happens in these 1-1.5 hour meetings as men encourage, share life, and reflect on life and material read. There is no formula to this, just a commitment to be present in the lives of others.
Great friendships have been formed in Locker Rooms, usually meetings at local restaurants and coffee shops, and relationships have been healed, as well as businesses started and business relationships forged.
